Greetings from LifeRing:
It’s been a couple of months since our last newsletter. Since then, there has been a change to our board of directors. Our assigned Treasurer, Brenda, has accepted another job which will take up her time, and she had to step away from the board. Until we are able to obtain another Treasurer, Jamie our current president will cover this position. We wish Brenda all the best.
This newsletter will cover a couple of current topics for LifeRing Canada, one will be Welcoming our New Convenors. The second will be Fundraising.
Let’s get started, over the last couple of months, we were in high gear trying to obtain new convenors from Canada. We were successful in attracting 3 new convenors; Sanjit, Dave, and Van. A couple of them have already starting convening on-line meetings, and the 3rd is just finishing up his training. During the month of June, we will be having our first ever Canada-wide LifeRing Convenor’s Workshop!! We send out a big welcome to all of them!
Now over to Fundraising. As you know LifeRing Canada is a non-profit organization that relies on donations from the community of members, just like you. We are always so grateful to all that donate. As our facilities start to open after a long closure due to Covid, we will start to collect meeting donations. Our collection baskets help us build our bank account that pays for rental of rooms, copying, and our 1-800 phone line.
How can we as members of LifeRing contribute on-line you ask? On our website there is a “Please Consider a Donation” button that links you to the options of contributing.
